Are People Really That Worried About Global Warming? No!
We keep hearing about an increase in the amount of people who actually believe in Global Warming, that Global Warming is man-made or that Global Warming is occurring to some extent and they are concerned.
In fact a new survey by AP-NORC found:
Forty-eight percent of Americans find the science on climate change to be more persuasive than it was five years ago, with three-quarters of them crediting recent extreme weather events for changing their views
Well course their minds have changed, all they hear about day after day is how Global Warming is real even though not one prediction made by these people in the past couple of decades has ever come true. In fact back in 1989 the AP reported that a senior U.N. environmental official, Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP stated that entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. It is currently 2019 and 20 years later no nations have been wiped off the face of the earth. In fact the AP reported that:
Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of ″eco-refugees,′ ′ threatening political chaos
Now we get to the question of how concerned are these people; well apparently not that concerned at least when it comes to their own pocketbook.
According to a new AP-NORC survey 72% of Americans would not be willing to spend an extra $10 a month in higher electric bills to combat Global Warming.
The survey found that 57% of those surveyed would contribute $1 a month to combat global warming but that number drops to 28% when asked if they would pay $10 each month.
Really all these concerned people will not even spend an extra $120 a year to combat Global Warming.
I bet if you were to ask many of these same people if they would support “government” spending quite a bit of money to combat Global Warming they would support that. When it is not coming directly out of their pocket many more people do believe the daily drum beat of the Global Warming alarmist.
