A woman was arrested by Battle Creek police after attacking a man who was trying to evict her from a residence. It happened over the weekend at a home on Harris Street. Officers were called at around 3:30 Saturday morning and met a man outside who had distanced himself from the woman fearing for his safety.

He told officers she had lived at the residence for a couple of months, but that he was trying to evict the woman and her mother. He said he located the woman and another man in the residence and when he tried to make the man leave the woman began to assault him, punching him at least 15 times. When he tried to leave, she reportedly pulled him to the ground and tried to choke and bite him.

Police located the woman later and she denied the accusations, but was arrested anyways. No other information on the case has been released.
