A Brewery which has been a part of Kalamazoo and stationed at 3408 Miller Rd in Kalamazoo is finally getting their own place in the new Harrison Circle Apartment building. American Brewers Inc. and Brewery Outrè have been in the building which shares taprooms with Valhalla but now it looks like they're either branching out or moving completely, as signage has gone up on the street level at 525 E. Ransom St. in downtown Kalamazoo. If you're not familiar with them, their website details their beginnings:

Brewery Outré is the project of Ted Linabury, a long-time homebrewer and Michigan State grad who recently left an engineering job in Detroit to return to Kalamazoo. Partnering with an existing brewery, American Brewers Inc (known for their Confliction brand of mead), has allowed Brewery Outré to get beer to the market considerably faster and with far less capital investment compared to starting from scratch. After a few test batches, production is just beginning to ramp up.  Distribution in kegs to Kalamazoo-area craft beer bars has begun.

For the longest time they were a "virtual" brewery, meaning they partnered with American Brewers, Inc (known for Confliction Mead) in Kalamazoo to produce specialty beer for local distribution. The word "Outré" ("ooh-tray") has many meanings including: unusual and startling, i.e. weird, queer, outlandish, far out, freakish, quirky, zany, off-center, unconventional, unorthodox, funny, bizarre, fantastic, unusual, singular, extraordinary, strange, unfamiliar, peculiar, odd.

With the interesting wordage, I'm sure we can expect to see some unique beers being produced with their new store which looks like it may open before the end of the year.
