Do You Know About Michigan’s Hidden Gem Called The Tridge?
There's a popular tourist attraction in Midland, Michigan that should be on your bucket list.
I was yesterday years old when I learned about a three legged bridge in Michigan. Have you ever visited the Tridge in Midland, Michigan? This beautifully designed wooden footbridge crosses the point where the Chippewa River and the Tittabawassee meet. But that is just the tip of the iceberg for nature walkers according to the official City of Midland, Michigan website,
The Tridge also marks the starting point of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail, a Michigan Rails to Trails Conservancy Hall of Fame trail.
To get an idea of how cool the Tridge is, check out the drone video footage below uploaded to YouTube by Eugene Froimson.

I was unable to find the actual month and day that the Tridge opened. However, I do know that this unusual bridge in Chippewassee Park was opened in 1981, which means the bridge turns 40 years old this year.
Back in 2016 I did my first Michigan road trip from Kalamazoo to Copper Harbor and published the 6 Best Places to Go on a Michigan Summer Road Trip. After finding out about The Tridge in Midland, I may have to update the article to make it the 7 best places to go on a Michigan Summer Road Trip.
The Tridge in Midland is near the thumb, about 20 minutes West of Bay City and the Saginaw Bay.
