The mansion that sits on Raspberry Lane in Charlevoix is one magnificent home. Referred to as "the most beautiful home on the lake" this Charlevoix lakefront estate was once the most expensive listing in Michigan and now the breathtaking property is up for bids.
After being on and off the market since it was built, the home once on the market for $12.5 million is heading to auction. According to Mansion Global, the home is offered by the online auction platform Interluxe. The home was built in 2009, and asking prices have been as low as $7.9 million and as high as $12.5 million. Bidding will start at just $2.5 million on May 31, 2022.
The opening bid may not seem like such a bargain price, but when you look at the home itself, it's actually quite the steal. According to Realtor.com, the mansion took about five years to build, and most of the decor has been imported from all over the world. The beautiful wooden bar in the family room was imported from Malaysia in sections and reassembled. The home also has incredible craftmanship throughout including the home’s grand staircase, which spirals between floors.
Inside the 16,000 square foot mansion on Lake Charlevoix, you'll find seven bedrooms, and eight bathrooms, along with two half-bathrooms. The home was built in such a way that most of the living space, along with the bedrooms, comes complete with breathtaking views of the lake. There is also a total of eight, yes eight, fireplaces.
