Former Michigan State University president Lou Anna Simon (pictured) was charged in Eaton County District Court of lying to police in relation to the ongoing investigation into the Larry Nassar scandal, the Lansing State Journal is reporting.

Simon faces two felony and two misdemeanor accounts of lying to police.  If she is convicted of these charges, she could get up to four years in jail.

Simon, who was Michigan State's president from 2005 until earlier this year (January, to be exact).  That's when she resigned her post after Nassar was sentenced in Ingham County District Court on multiple sexual assault charges.

There is no announcement as of yet for hearings regarding the charges against the former school president.
