The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has shared its state rankings for do-not-call complaints in 2018. See how Michigan ranks for number of robocalls.

The FTC received 197,421 complaints about robocalls from Michigan last year. That number is huge when you consider how many people receive calls but don't take the time to file a complaint.

To rank states against each other, the FTC calculated the number of complaints per 100,000 people in each state. Michigan's complaints per 100,000 people in 2018 was 1,982. That made Michigan the tenth-worst state for robocalls in 2018.

Nevada was the worst with 2,579 complaints per 100,000 people. Alaska was the best with 549 complaints per 100,000 people.

The ten worst states for robocalls in 2018:

  1. Nevada
  2. Colorado
  3. Arizona
  4. Oregon
  5. New Jersey
  6. Connecticut
  7.  Virginia
  8. Maryland
  9. Florida
  10. Michigan

Total complaints in 2018 were around six million. That's down from around seven million in 2017, but still almost double the number of complaints filed in 2014.
