It's the weekend we've been waiting for. The Kalamazoo Farmers Market is celebrating their opening weekend starting Saturday May 4th. The Farmers Market, open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at 1204 Bank St. The market will continue to run every Saturday through Nov. 23.

There will be over 100 local farmers, producers and local vendors each Saturday. This weekend, live music at the market will feature Dede and the Dreamers and Mitchie Moore. Kalamazoo’s local farmers market is operated by the PFC Natural Grocery and Deli, since 2013. The KFM also recently put out a reminder that pets should not be brought to the market, stating: "While we love your furry pals, please remember to leave them at home on market days as the market is not a safe place for them to socialize. The crowds are big, there are many small children and elderly folks, as well as those with service dogs doing their job. Instead, come shop leash free and pick your pup up a treat from one of our vendors!"
