For those who are excited to get back into summer and make a big splash, you'll be excited to know the City of Kalamazoo Kik Pool will be re-opening Wednesday, June 9th until Sunday, August 15 with safety precautions in place. The pool, located at 1018 Walter St. is getting ready to finally welcome the community back, while making sure everyone there is safe. They've added some precautions to ensure this, that can be found on their website:

  • Increased cleaning of high touch points
  • Checking out lounge chairs so they can be cleaned between use (still free to use)
  • Masks required while walking to and from the locker rooms and concessions (to and from the pool they are NOT required, and when seated, socially distanced from others outside of their household)
  • Decreased capacity limit

These new precautions are subject to change throughout the summer and Kik Pool staff said they plan on staying diligent throughout the summer to monitor guidance from the CDC and local health officials and adjust protocols accordingly. Their site also provided information about where to buy pool passes:

Pool passes can be purchased starting June 9 at Kik Pool or call 3-1-1 (or 269-337-8000) for updated office hours. Pool pass prices are listed below. Kids ages 2 and under have free entry.
