The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has partnered with the Oshtemo Fire Department in a friendly competition that will benefit children affiliated with Great Lakes Burn Camp.

"Movember" is an annual event involving the growing of mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. This year, KDPS and Oshtemo Township Fire Department are partnering with the Great Lakes Burn Camp in an effort to raise money that will be donated to impact children affiliated with the Great Lakes Burn Camp. Great Lakes Burn Camp (GLBC) provides a unique experience that promotes healing, self-esteem, confidence, and general well-being for burn injured children. GLBC is a place where burn survivors can meet, play, heal and grow.

The two departments plan to grow their mustaches for the month of November to promote and raise money for GLBC. They are asking for help from the community to join them in raising money for this camp. It costs roughly $600 per camper. Down below is link where you can donate. We have a friendly competition between departments to see who can raise the most amount of money. Thank you all your support to our departments.
