For the seventh year in a row, Kalamazoo is celebrating Black History Month by hosting the Kalamazoo Legacy Luncheon on Monday, February 4th from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. You are invited to attend the luncheon and take part as they commemorate scholarship recipients and recognize great community leaders. This year, the keynote speaker is the First Woman Chief of Houston METRO Police, Vera Bumpers.

Legacy Events have grown so much since their inception as a small community gathering. They have awarded more than $110,000 in student scholarships throughout Michigan, honored hard-working community leaders, supported minority-owned businesses and services, and encouraged diversification in our communities with the theme "Black History is Everybody's History."
