The Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Southwest Michigan First are trumpeting a business expansion in Comstock Township among three being recognized in a press release.

Polytek Development Corp. has been been acquiring manufacturing companies and their facilities, and was looking to consolidate those operations in one location. That location is going to be at an existing facility in Comstock Township and the expansion is "expected to generate a total private investment of $2.1 million and create 28 jobs.," according to the MEDC release.

Polytek is a manufacturer of specialty polymers used in "mold making and casting applications for industrial, construction, entertainment, consumer, fine arts and technology sectors."

The release says Michigan was chosen for the project over a competing site in Indiana. "The three business projects expected to generate a total investment of $10.4 million and create 117 jobs around Michigan have received support from the Michigan Strategic Fund."
