Missing Grand Haven Man’s Body Found
The missing Grand Haven man's body was located Tuesday near the Muskegon River.
According to WOOD, 29-year-old Jeff Scarbrough of Grand Haven Michigan went missing after a golf outing with some friends on Saturday. Text messages say he was on his way to pick up his son but for some reason his SUV wound up being found in the north branch of the Muskegon River near the Creston Road Public Boat Launch.
When Scarbrough didn't show up to pick his son up, that is when the call was made to police that he was missing.
An anonymous tipster contacted the Silent Observer Tuesday morning and that is what led the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety to send investigators to the location on the river. Home that was close by that had a security camera aimed at the road captured Scarbrough's SUV driving by to the boat launch but the camera did not catch the vehicle coming back. Scarbrough's cellphone's last ping was in the area according to police.
Police say there were no signs of a struggle and no real evidence that Scarbrough's death is suspicious. Police nor family know why he traveled to the Creston Road boat launch. The investigation is still on going while an autopsy is being performed.
Family and friends told investigators that Scarbrough was well liked by all and was a committed father to his son.
