Odds Of Winning Eastern Conference Near Bottom For Red Wings

Steve Yzerman is back but the Red Wings are still a few years away from  contending. 

According to M-Live,  Bet Online has the Red Wings near the bottom of the Eastern Conference with 50-1 odds to win the conference.   The only team worse than the Red Wings is Ottawa at 80-1

The best odds to win is the Tampa Bay Lightning at 4-1.   The defending conference champion, Boston Bruins are listed at 7-1.

To compare to the Western Conference, the Stanley Cup Champion, St Louis Blues are 7-1 to win the west.  The favorites for the west are the Vegas Golden Knights at 11-2.

The Red Wings were the 14th of 16 teams in the east last season so the prediction doesn't have them making much of an improvement.

We'll see if the team can improve when the regular season begins on October 5th in Nashville.
