The Old Farmers Almanac uses long range predictions in weather trends like temperature and precipitation to determine what is in store for this winter. 

August was hot and humid, September was calm and comfortable and October is starting out with mild temperatures. According to the old Farmers almanac, here's what we can expect this winter and it's going to be rough for us in Michigan.

 

The Northeast and Midwest can expect "colder than normal" temperatures with "above normal" precipitation.The Pacific Northwest can expect a lot of rain and chilly weather.The Intermountain and Appalachian regions, where ski enthusiasts would enjoy cold temperatures and lots of snow, is expected to be warmer and less snowy than usual. The South is supposed to experience a very mild winter.

That "above normal Precipitation, that's SNOW!! Get those shovels out and snowblowers ready.
