Portage Public Safety Asks For Help Naming New K-9 Officer
The Portage Department of Public Safety introduced their new K-9 on Friday and asked for the public's help naming him.
Portage Public Safety annouced the latest addition to their force and asked for the public's help in naming the one-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix in a social media post.

Help us name our new K9! Officer Wentworth selected his new partner from a kennel in Western Pennsylvania. The pup is a Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix that was born December 2018 in Hungary. They’ll be heading back to Michigan soon for several weeks of intense training. Before that occurs, we need to get this dog a name......and we need YOUR help! Ofc. Wentworth has whittled down to; Hugo, Riggs, or Dante. Vote for one of the three and we’ll announce the winning name Sunday evening!

News of the new K-9 officer comes about three months after the sudden loss of Portage Public Safety K-9 officer Zorro who was also partnered with Officer Wentworth.
