St. Joseph County Now Has A Bitcoin ATM
One of the biggest financial controversies of the past few years is the rise of cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin. But what is Bitcoin? It was actually invented over a decade ago in 2008 by an unknown person or group of people using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. The currency became available for use in 2009 as a decentralized digital currency, without a central bank or single administrator that can be sent from user to user. But a lot of people are very weary about the use of the currency, and now St. Joseph County residents are involved.
The first Bitcoin ATM in St. Joseph county can be found at Gills gas station, in Park Township, on the corner of US 131 and M 216. With a little over 9,000 Bitcoin ATM’s in the United States, resident Jack Coleman recently posted a picture of the ATM, expressing his concern with the use of the currency:
The Kiosk in Gill’s gas station allows you to purchase Bitcoin and other crypto currencies through debit, credit card or cash but it is not a bi-directional ATM. It only allows purchases. Bitcoin Kiosks do not connect to a bank account but rather a Bitcoin wallet. They can also charge a transaction fee from 7% to 16%. I am not sure the amount charged at this kiosk. For myself, I don't see myself making a purchase. I prefer cold hard AMERICAN cash.
Other people feel this is the way for the New World Order's agenda to be completed with the one world currency, but I'll believe it when this starts becoming a more widely used source of income.
