Many kids from the early part of the last century grew up with the famed fictional hero, the Lone Ranger. The radio program started in Detroit on this day in 1933.

Many firsts have happened in Michigan, and one of the most significant happened 100 years ago today, when radio station WWJ in Detroit became the first commercial radio station on the air in the country.

It's time for another round of pictures in the WKMI Photo Archive. As with the last group of pictures, we could use some help identifying the people in the photographs, or as in the case of the woman doing a "Carol Merrill" at the cemetery, the circumstances surrounding the picture. Enjoy!

It's time for a few more photographs from the WKMI Archive. We had a very positive reaction to the first round of photos, and we hope these will bring back memories, or at least give a glimpse of downtown in times past.
