Maybe you're old enough to remember the Chevrolet commercials from the '70s with that infections jingle:  "We love baseball, hotdogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet?"

(Side note -- if you're from around here, you probably remember the local version adapted for Applegate Chevrolet that went:  "We love baseball, hotdogs, Applegate, and Chevrolet.")

We're not sure if God intended for ho dogs to be combined with apple pies, but who are we to argue with Guy Fieri?

Now, thanks to Mr. Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, two of those food items are being combined into one. The 'Apple Pie Hotdog' is the latest creation, courtesy of celebrity chef Guy Fieri.

The concoction has been created in honor of this Thursday night's 'Field of Dreams' game between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees. The game will be played on the iconic field in Iowa which served as the setting for the movie 'Field of Dreams' in 1989.

Fieri calls the creation a "funky throwback snack."

It's an all-beef hotdog inside a pre-made pie crust with a little apple pie filling and bacon jam. Then top it off with a little sugar and pie spice. Bake it for 18 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees, then drizzle it with a mix of apple pie filling and yellow mustard, and some crumbled bacon.

So what do you think of the idea? Fieri takes a big ol' bite at the end of the video below and he seems t enjoy it. But is that for reals?
