Tell Your Kalamazoo COVID-19 Story
There are so many emotions swirling around the pandemic and subsequent Stay Home recommendations. Anxiety. Worry. Fear. Hope. It's unlike anything we've endured before. But even though we are all going through this together, we're experiencing very different times during this pandemic. Some of us have lost jobs. Others have adjusted to working from home. Parents have become teachers. Teachers have become Zoom conference gurus. Birthday parties are thrown online. Weddings are held in the middle of the streets. Those streets are empty. Uncertainty casts a pall over everyday moments. What's your COVID-19 story? What do you think future generations should know about this moment in history? The Kalamazoo Valley Museum is currently collecting Kalamazoo residents' experiences of the pandemic. How did you and your family get through seemingly endless days in doors? How did you keep busy? Did this experience give you a new perspective or cause you to reprioritize? Did you finally get around to a long overdue domestic project? Were you part of the safety effort by making masks or donating PPE? The museum wants to hear your story. Give future generations a glimpse in to what it was like to live in Kalamazoo, Michigan in the early part of 2020. Share pictures. Maybe even share some laughter. No story is too big or too small. It all helps to paint a picture of our city, how it reacted, and how it endured. Click here to learn more about the project and to submit your unique Kalamazoo COVID-19 story.
