Got a press release from the folks at Bell's on Monday, touting a new beer that will join the Bell's lineup early next year. Bell's Official will begin to hit bars and shelves in February of 2019. And as I read through it, some key words jumped out at me, and I think this has the potential to be my new favorite beer. Those key words are the hop ingredients: Mosaic, Citra, Azzaca, Amarillo and El Dorado hops. Mosaic,Citra and Amarillo are hops used in brewing the newest big thing in craft beer, the New England IPA, the hazy nectar from the beers gods. (Did I actually just write that?)

Some people, like Bell's are calling it an American IPA, but regardless of the name, this style of beer has become a big deal. In Michigan, M-43 saved Old Nation Brewing's business. Rochester Mills' Juice Bigelow is a fine beer, too. And any number of craft brewers in Michigan and beyond are offering up their take on this beer.

Larry Bell has been making pretty darn good beer for a long time, so it'll be fun to see and taste what Official tastes like. My son says he's probably had a taste of its predecessors at Bell's and he's looking forward to it, too.

Oh, and one last thing. How about that reallyo cool logo? Looks a little like one of the big boys, and yet, it's very classy.
