Last weekend, two men from the City of Three Rivers lost their lives in motorcycle accidents. Both men took all necessary safety precautions and neither were at fault for the accidents.

The first accident occurred on Saturday, July 27. A 16 year old driver backing out of a driveway pulled into the path of 25 year old Tyler Hershberger. Hershberger was pronounced dead at the scene. Tyler served in the U.S. Army and will be buried with Military Honors.

The second accident occurred late Sunday evening. 28 year old Spencer Minor was driving his motorcycle south bound on US-131 when a 29 year old male driver, who was stopped at North River Road turned into the path Minor, causing the motorcycle to collide with the vehicle.

Spencer Minor was the lead singer of the Christian rock group, Scarlet White, and had volunteered his time to the city using his artistic abilities when there was a lack of funds to procure an architectural rendering on a beautification project.

The Three Rivers Police Department also sent out a reminder to those on the road..."Look twice, save a life."

Three Rivers is a smaller city and many in the community were familiar with both men. It did not take long those looking to help to organize fundraising efforts to ease any financial burden.

Next time you are on the road, remember to look twice. You just might save a life.
