Tigers Fall To Rangers In Game Three
The Tigers were swept by the Rangers in Texas with a 12-6 loss, their 10th in the last 12 games.
It was a close game for the first five innings, as the teams battled for the lead.
Ian Kinsler started the night with a homer to left-field, putting the Tigers on the board, 1-0 in the first inning. Nick Castellanos then scored, in the 2nd, on a single by McCann and taking advantage of an error by Ranger’s center-fielder Delino DeShields. Texas responded with two runs, evening the score to 2-2.
The 3rd saw another homer by the Tigers, hit by Mikie Mahtook and bringing Kinsler home. The Rangers struck back with a homer that created a 4-4 game.
The Rangers took the lead in the 5th with another homer, and blew the game open in the 6th with four more runs to lead 9-4.
Things continued to go downhill for the Tigers as Texas continue to score with a run in the 7th and two more in the 8th, shoving the score to 12-4. The 9th arrived and Mahtook scored on a double to deep left by Andrew Romine. Romine then scored on a double to deep center by Castellanos. But the rally fell short, as the Tigers lost 12-6.
