‘Why Do You Want To Take Away My Rights?’
The best speeches and thoughts on an issue come from the heart. Not some speech written with or by someone else and given to a politician, pundit or activist.
People who do not speak from the heart can be identified immediately in most cases, the only cases when they cannot is when a damn good con artist is giving them. To that point there are a number of current and former politicians who fall into that category of damn good con artists. I will leave it up to you to decide who they are.
I was lucky enough to come across a Daily Caller news story of a less than 4 minute speech given by a man, to the Greensboro, North Carolina City Council and those in attendance of the meeting. The City Council meeting and conversation centered on whether or not to cancel the Greensboro Gun and Knife Show.
When it was time for Mark Robinson, a Greensboro, N.C., resident to speak he could have not defended the rights of law-abiding residents of not only Greensboro NC but the rest of us who live in this great country. By the way for those of you on the left when I say this “great country” I mean the Unites States.
The gentleman laid out a very simple and honest case for protecting the rights of the majority. When in part he stated:
You want to restrict my right to buy a firearm and protect myself from some of the very people you are talking about in here tonight…The law-abiding citizens of this community, of other communities we are the first ones taxed and the last ones considered.
He then went on to say:
I’m the majority. I’m a law-abiding citizen who has never shot anybody… Never committed a serious crime. Never committed a felony. I’ve never done anything like that. It seems like every time we have one of these shootings, nobody wants to put the blame where it goes, which is at the shooter’s feet. You want to put it at my feet. You want to turn around and restrict my rights.
You really need to hear it from Mr. Robinson himself. Please advance the following You Tube video to the 4:42 mark and learn how to defend our rights, the silent majority.
