Promise Scholarships Extended to Private Colleges

At an event at Kalamazoo College on Tuesday, officials announced an expansion of the Promise Scholarship program to some private colleges.  Starting with the class of 2015, the scholarships will cover tuition at fifteen liberal arts colleges including Kalamazoo College, Adrian, Albion, Hillsdale, Grand Rapids' Aquinas, Hope and Calvin, University of Detroit Mercy, and a number of others. .

MLive reports over 3200 students have benefited from the Kalamazoo Promise since it's inception in 2006.
