It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing on of the Taco & Tequila Festival from its birthplace at Homer Stryker Field in Kalamazoo, to Grand Rapids. This event dedicated to the celebration of that simple, yet so complex Mexican snack, and blue agave spirit will take place at Fifth Third Ballpark on Saturday, May 2nd. According to an Mlive article, Dana Wagner, director of live events for the Kalamazoo Growlers said they want to keep the event “fresh” and bring it to different markets. So far 15 to 20 restaurants will take place in the 2020 Taco and Tequila Festival, as well as samples of 25 to 30 brands of tequila. As always, this is a family-friendly event that will also have yard games, a play area, and live music. VIP and general admission tickets will be available beginning February 28th.
