Amazon Planning Plant On Former Silverdome Sight
Amazon has presented a site plan to the Pontiac Planning Commission to build on the 127-acre site that used to house the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, MI . If the $250 million development is built, it would create an estimated 1,500 full time jobs, according to WXYZ. Just imagine, working for Amazon making a livable wage on the site where the Detroit Lions made history by winning a playoff game 26 years ago. On the spot where Hulk Hogan once slammed Andre The Giant in front of 93,173 people at Wrestlemania 3, you'll be getting slammed with orders you have to send out.
Starting wages are said to begin at $15 an hour for both full and part time employees and would include benefits as well. The Planning Commission has already approved the proposal, now it moves on to the full City Council. If it is approved, construction starts immediately with their delivery station fully operational by the third quarter of 2020 and the fulfillment center would be operational by the third quarter of 2021.
