Big Ten commissioner Jim Delaney said last week that the Big Ten may do away with the East and West divisions of football. According to a story from Sports Illustrated, the big muckety-mucks of the Big Ten have discussed dissolving the divisions, since the East Division is such a powerhouse by itself. The Big Ten Championship Game would then be played by the top two teams overall.

What would this have looked like this past season? It would have meant a re-match in the Big Ten Championship of the Ohio State/Michigan game - with a chance for Michigan to redeem themselves or a chance for Ohio State to make a case for being in the playoffs.

And that's why they should just go ahead and do it.
