Flood Advisory In Effect For Most Of Southwest Michigan

Several rounds of spring showers and thunderstorms have raised concerns for localized flooding. The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a Flood Advisory for several counties in southwest Michigan.

Included are Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties. The advisory is in effect until 8:30 pm Wednesday evening.

Early Wednesday morning, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy would be likely to cause minor flooding in the advisory areas. Up
to two inches of rain have already fallen as of 2:30 am any many spots. And additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the same areas in the region.

As always, motorists are reminded not to try to drive through any flooding that is happening on roadways. They are advised to seek another route. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
