Glaze Your Ham With Bourbon This Christmas
Don't just eat ham for your holiday celebration, put some bourbon on it.
Michigan State University Corporate Executive Chef Kurt Kwiatkowski has your super easy recipe right here:
Chef Kurt's Bourbon Orange Glazed Ham
3 T. bourbon2 T. maple syrup
2 T. whole grain mustard
½ c. orange marmalade
8# ham
Preheat your oven to 325
Score the fat on the ham in a checkerboard pattern and put the ham in a roasting pan fat side up, cover with foil and put in the oven for 1 hour.
Mix bourbon, maple syrup, mustard and orange marmalade in a sauce pan and heat over medium low heat until all ingredients are melted together. Remove and reserve.
After ham has been in for 1 hour, remove foil and put back in the oven for another ½ hour. Then start basting with your glaze every 10 minutes for another 30-40 minutes.
After the internal temperature comes to 135-140 remove from the oven and let rest on your cutting board for 15 minutes before you carve it up.
