Kalamazoo Valley Museum's 8th Annual Storytelling Festival is Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8th. The theme this year is Growing Stories, so get ready for two  full days of world-known professional storytellers taking visitors on a journey from one generation to the next, and marvel as stories sprout from another and tales connect people like vines. Children and adults alike are sure to be entertained.

The festivities start on Friday night during Art Hop, February 7 at 6 p.m. Author, radio journalist, and storyteller Joe McHugh will perform with his wife, Paula McHugh. They'll spin a rich trip through history called The Time Travelers. Using stories, music, and imagery, the pair will tell stories of frontier trailblazers, Civil War soldiers, gold seekers, medicine show pitchmen, and many more. They're followed by Allison Downey, who returns to the Festival at 7 p.m. with her own blend of music and stories. Then Saturday kicks off at 10 a.m. with Michigan authors, educators, and gardeners.
