Michigan Woman’s Facebook Post Goes Viral: ‘Be Better, Grand Rapids’
"How many people kept driving and didn’t think it was important enough to take a few minutes out of their morning to check on a human life?"
Taylor Ballek's Facebook post has gone viral, and for a good reason. She was driving in Grand Rapids last week and noticed that traffic was backed up and people were avoiding something in the road. As she got closer, she realized that it was a gentleman who had fallen and couldn't get back up.
She pulled over and tried to talk to the man, who was just staring at her. She called 911, and another woman stopped and gave the man a blanket. Another man stopped his truck and turned on his hazards to block traffic.
Ballek was shocked that so many people drove past the man and didn't stop to help. Her closing message to her fellow Michiganders? "Be better, Grand Rapids."
