For the second time in the past week comes word that a Portage restaurant is shutting it's doors. A restaurant employee confirmed that Hooters in Portage will be closing on Sunday, February 25th. This news coming on the heels of last week's closing of Panchero's on South Westnedge next to Southland Mall.

Hooters, which began in the early 1980's in Florida, opened to controversy in Portage about 15 years ago, as its supposed reputation preceded it. Depending on your point of view, it was either a fun place with good food, or a sexist hellhole.
