These West Michigan Museums are FREE on Saturday
Have some fun and learn something new this weekend at one of your local museums.
This Saturday, 9/21, is Smithsonian Magazine's 15th annual "Museum Day" -- museums, historical sites, & cultural institutions around the country are free entry for a day. This year the theme is "Year of Music."
The Smithsonian Year of Music highlights and shares our vast musical holdings, bringing together our resources in history, art, culture, science, and education.
Participating museums have created "programming" to highlight the theme.
Over 1,500 museums are participating in "Museum Day." You can find ones near you here. 37 museums in Michigan are partaking in the one-day event, including several in the West/SW Michigan area:

- Grand Rapids Public Museum
- Coopersville Farm Museum
- Holland Museum
- Michigan Maritime Museum (South Haven)
- Midwest Miniatures Museum (Hickory Corners)
- Gilmore Car Museum (Hickory Corners)
- Alamo Township Museum (Kalamazoo)
- Kalamazoo Valley Museum
- Kalamazoo Institute of Arts
- Kingman Museum (Battle Creek)
