Between using computers all day at work or checking social media and who knows what else on our smartphones and tablets, not to mention simply watching television, people are spending hours each day gazing at information on a screen.

In an article in the Las Vegas News-Review, Ophthalmologist, Dr. David Malitz, says urban legends-"you'll go blind" - about what affects the eye, such as reading small print or now from reading on a computer screen and watching television for hours upon end, those are false.

But Malitz says it is true when you stare at a screen for hours on end, you do blink less, and it would be wise to get eye drops for your eyes.

In addition to dry eyes, staring at screens for long periods can cause blurry vision, eye strain or sensitivity to bright light. He suggest getting low glare monitors and giving it a rest. Step away from your monitor often to give your eyes a rest.
