Fundraiser Underway To Fund Free Community Dinner In Kalamazoo
Efforts are underway to fund a free community catfish fry dinner in Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo God's Kitchen regularly serves free meals to those less fortunate in the community. There are no income or identification requirements to participate. All are welcome and to date, they have served more than 130,000 meals in their 9 years of operation.
God's Kitchen has been struggling with funding. In November, they announced they were going to cancel the free Thanksgiving dinner which prompted donors to step in saving the dinner less than 24 hours later.
Now God's Kitchen of Michigan is looking for donors and sponsors for the Free Community Catfish Fry for Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Douglas Community Association meal site located at 1000 West Paterson Street in Kalamazoo. The menu will consist of fried catfish, fried chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, broccoli, cake, and bottled water. They need $3,000 in order to serve the free meal.
How to donate:
All donations are tax-deductible and God's Kitchen of Michigan is a nonprofit. They receive no government funding and rely solely on sponsors and donations.
