The Governor is expected to announce an early start to the 2020/2021 school year in response to the pandemic.

Michigan educators, students and parents have been waiting on pins and needles for Governor Gretchen Whitmer to make an announcement on the school year, and the official press conference will be this morning at 10:30 AM.

According to a memo from a House Republican, the Governor is expected to announce that, if schools are still closed by the middle of May, they will be closed for the rest of the year and that the next school year will start earlier than Labor Day.

It's not a bad idea, really. This year seems to be the exception to EVERY rule EVER made. We'll bring you the latest after her press conference.
