No to Coke, Yes to IUD?
At Seattle public schools you cannot buy a coke but you can get an IUD without your parents’ consent.
I just read an article in CNS News that reported 13 Seattle public schools do not allow students to buy a coke on school grounds but the school does offer long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) and hormonal implants to students starting in the 6th grade at no cost, without parents' consent.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Does this sound reasonable to you?
Ok, you want to ban a coke, go ahead. But then to offer IUD’s without parent consent sounds insane to me.
Who do these people think they are? Is this what the Democrat party stands for now?
According to the article, “LARCs are associated with serious side effects, such as uterine perforation and infection. IUDs, specifically, can also act as abortifacients by preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg.”
A group named Take Charge, a Washington State Medicaid program, is behind this scheme. Teenagers who don’t want their parents to know they’re on birth control are supplied the drugs and procedures through this government program.
The group Take Charge stated that “a student who does not want their parents to know they are seeking reproductive health services is allowed to apply for Take Charge using their own income, and if they are insured under their parents’ plan, the insurance would not be billed.” They went on to say “Because we’re at the school, which is so wonderful, we have access to the students, and they have access to us, pretty much any time.”
Apparently Washington State law grants any individual “a fundamental right of privacy with respect to personal reproductive decisions.”
Is this the “change” democrats voted for?
Do you see how we are slowly, or I should say now quickly, losing decision making control over our own children?
What is going on in America?
