If you haven't seen it yet - check out the TV spot for Hafod Hardware. Hafod Hardware is in tiny Rhayader, Wales. They produced a 2-minute Christmas spot from the family owned business starring the owner's two-year-old, Arthur. It's a great spot (IMO) which originally wowed everyone because it reportedly cost only $130 to produce.

According to Fox News, the owner of Hafod's, Tom Jones (yeah, how would you like having that name growing up anywhere in Great Britain?) shot the spot in one day with help from a filmmaker friend. Apparently, the $130 was the cost of having singer Andrea von Kampen record the song used in the spot. The song is Forever Young, recorded originally by a German band named Alphaville, in 1984. (Do a search online for the original video for that song and have fun re-living the 80s) You might remember the original version from the soundtrack of the Napoleon Dynamite movie. (Andrea's version is much better)

Here's the Michigan connection: Andrea Von Kampen was born in Ann Arbor. She moved with her family to Lincoln, Nebraska and considers that home, but she performs all over the midwest, so you might get to see her play. Recently she was at the Riverlights Festival in South Bend and The Traverse City Microbrew & Music Festival.

And here's the spot:
